Primary Coach: Sharon Tedder
Anxiety is one of the major reasons people seek out counseling help. Although a variety of symptoms might be experienced (like obsessive thoughts, fear of social interactions, inability to sleep well), the cause is typically something more deeply rooted in the individual. The goal of counseling is to identify and process the beliefs or experiences that feed anxiety so that the symptoms are diminished or eliminated. Anxiety counseling provides the treatment needed for a successful recovery from the major anxiety disorders which include generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and specific phobias.
One of Sharon Tedder's primary areas of therapeutic focus has been in the area of EMDR, found to be extremely helpful in treating anxiety linked to past traumatic events. She also works with clients who experience anxiety or worry that is more generalized or linked to social discomfort. |
