Calling Hours: Someone is usually available to take your calls during business days (Mon-Fri) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If we are away from the desk or helping another client, please leave a message and we will return your call.
Appointment Hours: Counseling hours vary during the week in order to accommodate different client schedules. Each therapist may have hours that deviate slightly from this schedule, but appointments are generally available on weekdays, evenings, and Saturday morning as follows:

Our office is in Winter Park, just a few mile north of downtown Orlando. We are on the third floor (suite 324) of the Lee World Center building, on Lee Road (a half mile east of I-4 and less than a mile from the Winter Park Village Shopping area).

- Tim Tedder is a licensed counselor who began his transition into professional therapy in 2004. After completing his Masters Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, he started with a family counseling focus in Indiana before moving to Orlando in 2008 where he specialized in helping couples in crisis. He created AffairHealing.com in 2009 and is the author of books, articles, and resources related to affair recovery. Tim is a certified in Discernment Counseling, effective with marriages in which at least one spouse is considering separation or divorce. As co-owner of Currents Counseling Services, he works with committed couples through a wide variety of relationship issues and also counsels with individuals who desire to change life direction.
- Sharon Tedder is a registered Mental Health Intern, working toward full counseling licensure, with a Masters Degree from Troy University. She is a co-owner of Currents Counseling Services with a focus on helping clients work through trauma and anxiety using EMDR therapy. Sharon works with individuals only (not couples). Additionally, Sharon is passionate about helping those who have suffered abuse or betrayal in a relationship.
- Jennifer Gingras is a registered Marriage & Family Therapy Intern, working toward full counseling licensure, with a Masters Degree from the University of Central Florida. She works with couples who are dealing with a wide variety of relationship issues, but with specialized focus on pre-marital counseling and affair recovery. She also uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to help individuals who struggle with depression or anxiety.
HOW MUCH DO SESSIONS COST?
See below for each counselor's rates. Fees are the same whether the appointment is in the office or via phone. Payments can be made by cash, check, and all major credit cards.

Individual counseling sessions are typically 50 minutes long and 75-minutes is recommended for couples' sessions. However, clients may choose alternative session lengths. 75-minutes is necessary for EMDR Therapy and highly recommended for Discernment Counseling.

Our online portal allows clients to access their information, documents, scheduling, and billing information. The service we use, Simple Practice, focuses on the particular needs of the counseling community. They have provided a Client Portal Guide (PDF doc) to help clients use their portal.

WHY DO YOU ASK FOR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION?
Your credit card is not charged prior to your scheduled appointment, but we require the information for two reasons:

- It helps assure that new clients intend to keep their scheduled appointment.
- The payment process is streamlined following your appointment, since we can simply charge the card on file.
WHAT ABOUT MISSED APPOINTMENTS?
A 24-hour notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment is required. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged 1/2 the counselor's full session fee. (For new clients, the payment can be applied to a rescheduled appointment. For clients on scholarship, the penalty fee will not exceed their approved scholarship rate.)

I NEED COUNSELING, BUT IT'S MORE THAN I CAN AFFORD. ARE THERE ANY OTHER OPTIONS?

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
We counsel on a fee-for-service basis and do not accept third-party payments. We do, however, provide clients with insurance-ready receipts to be submitted to your insurance provider for out-of-network coverage. Check with your insurance provider to determine the specifics of your coverage/reimbursement.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Frequency of sessions (monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, etc.) will be decided by you and your counselor. The length of therapy varies with each client depending on his/her needs and therapeutic goals. In the end, though, YOU are in control of your appointments.

Yes. While face-to-face meetings are preferred, circumstances sometimes prohibit this. You can use our client portal system (for new clients and established clients) to set up either office or phone sessions.
If you have scheduled a phone appointment with your counselor, you should receive email instructions reminding you to call into your counselor's conference number at the scheduled time. If you are the first to call in, you will hear hold music until your counselor arrives. (If someone else is joining you in the call, you will get the best quality if each of you calls into the same number from a different phone.)

Absolutely. Information about you is never released to anyone without your written permission. Everything said in therapy is confidential and will not be disclosed except when reporting is required or permitted by the HIPAA Privacy Standard or Florida state law.
Exceptions to confidentiality include the following: suspected abuse of a child, developmentally disabled person, or a dependent adult; potential suicidal behavior; threatened harm to another, which may include knowledge that the client is HIV positive when there is an unwillingness to inform individuals with whom the client is intimately involved; and when required by compulsory process
Information may also be disclosed if you sign a written authorization or in the event that you file a complaint against your counselor. Payment by check, bank or credit card allows bank employees to view names of Current Counseling clients. If you have caller identification on your phone, the name of the agency may appear on the monitor.
In keeping with generally accepted standards of practice, supervision and consultation may be made regarding the management of your treatment with other mental health professionals who are bound by the same rules of confidentiality.
